Due Diligence Services
Built on three decades of criminal, corporate, and international investigative experience. Every engagement delivers court-ready findings and actionable intelligence.

Background Investigations
FCPA, KYC, FAA, FCRA, and ITAR-compliant background investigations for corporations, financial institutions, law firms, and M&A transactions — covering individuals, entities, and corporate affiliations across domestic and international jurisdictions.
Every investigation addresses the full compliance spectrum — AML screening, Politically Exposed Person (PEP) identification, Conflict of Interest analysis, sanctions and watchlist screening, adverse media review, and corporate affiliation mapping. Delivered to regulatory standard and structured to support legal, compliance, and executive decision-making.

Public Records
Global public records research conducted by an international network of licensed professional researchers and paralegals with direct access to court systems, government filings, and public record repositories across domestic and international jurisdictions.
Every engagement covers the full spectrum of public record research — UCC filings, federal and state tax liens, civil and criminal judgments, litigation history, criminal records, land records, and state corporate filings. Domestic searches are conducted at the county, state, and federal level. International searches are conducted through our global network of in-country researchers with direct access to local court systems and government repositories.

Online Surveillance
Continuous monitoring of individuals and entities across open-source intelligence channels, social media platforms, adverse media databases, and digital environments — identifying information that could impact existing agreements, business relationships, partnerships, and reputational standing.
Every engagement monitors for adverse media coverage, negative reviews, social media activity, policy and contractual violations, regulatory infractions, and infringement of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and other intellectual property. Real-time alerts ensure decision-makers receive actionable intelligence the moment new information surfaces.

Risk Assessments
Comprehensive risk assessment engagements spanning physical site security vulnerability assessments, cybersecurity penetration testing, undercover investigations, and supplier compliance audits — designed to identify exposure across every layer of your organization's operational and regulatory environment.
Every assessment is structured to deliver a prioritized risk profile, documented findings, and a corrective action framework — giving decision-makers a clear picture of where their organization is exposed and a defined path to remediation.

Asset Investigations
Comprehensive asset tracing and investigation — identifying, locating, and documenting tangible and intangible assets held by individuals or entities across domestic and international jurisdictions. Cash holdings, real estate, corporate interests, financial instruments, industrial equipment, machinery, inventory, and collateral — traced through complex ownership structures, nominee arrangements, and cross-border corporate formations.
Every engagement penetrates efforts to obscure or shield assets from discovery — delivering a documented asset position that supports litigation strategy, judgment enforcement, contract disputes, and pre-transaction due diligence. All asset investigations are conducted legally, ethically, and to evidentiary standard.
Working directly alongside attorneys and legal teams, Confuorto structures every engagement to ensure findings are admissible, defensible, and strategically aligned with the client's legal objectives — whether in domestic court proceedings, international arbitration, or regulatory enforcement actions.
Domestic and international. From a single subject to a multi-jurisdictional corporate investigation spanning multiple countries — the standard never changes.
Why Confuorto Due Diligence?
Most due diligence engagements stop at a database search. A report is generated, a box is checked, and the relationship moves forward — often with critical gaps in coverage that no algorithm identified because no human looked.
Confuorto goes further. Our international network of licensed researchers, paralegals, and field investigators conducts hands-on research across court systems, government repositories, open-source intelligence channels, and physical surveillance — delivering findings that database searches consistently miss.
From a single background investigation to a full pre-acquisition due diligence program spanning multiple jurisdictions — one team, one standard, complete accountability.

Our Due Diligence Story - $20MM deal
Every transaction carries risk. The question is never whether to conduct due diligence — it is whether yours is thorough enough to find what the other party does not want you to find.
When a client retained Confuorto to conduct an FCPA-compliant background investigation in connection with the proposed acquisition of a small business operation valued at $20 million, the sellers presented as legitimate operators with no disclosed legal history. Our investigation told a different story — uncovering extensive overseas criminal records for fraud and embezzlement across multiple jurisdictions that no domestic database search would have surfaced.
The acquisition did not proceed. Our client was protected from a $20 million exposure and from the regulatory, reputational, and legal consequences of doing business with individuals whose criminal history was deliberately concealed. The cost of the investigation was a fraction of what the transaction would have cost them.
